Having worked in the water supply and drainage engineering industry for many years, I have seen many rework problems caused by poor pipe selection and inadequate construction—either the pipes cannot withstand settlement and crack, or the joints leak and affect the water supply, or they are scrapped due to corrosion and aging after a few years. If using heat fusion connection, pay attention to these steps: the cut end face of the pipe must be flat and free of impurities; the misalignment during alignment should not exceed 10% of the wall thickness; the heating temperature should be controlled between 210-230°C, with a melting length of 1-2mm being ideal; after switching heating plates, quickly connect the pipes, maintaining pressure to achieve a crimp width of 2-4mm; during cooling, do not touch the joint until the crimp feels hard and no longer warm to the touch before releasing the clamps.


If connection to steel pipes or valves is required, use steel-plastic flanges. Butt-weld the HDPE pipe end to the plastic support ring using heat fusion, and weld the flange to the steel pipe end according to specifications. For large sizes or high-pressure applications, remember to add sealing rings. When using electrofusion connections, first check the fittings for broken threads. After inserting the pipe, ensure it is fully in place and secured. Strictly adhere to the manufacturer's welding parameters. Do not move the clamps before cooling. After completion, check for any molten material leakage and ensure the resistance wire is not exposed.
